>7600 has a 46 +/- MHz bus and on-motherboard cache. Non-Mach 5.

Depending on the CPU speed, the 7600 bus runs at anything between 40 MHz and 50
MHz.

>8600/233 or slower also has a 46 +/- MHz bus and on-motherboard cache.
>Non-Mach 5.

I can't find any evidence that there ever was an 8600/233, though there is a
9600/233. The 8600/200 drives the bus at 50 MHz.

>8600/250 or faster has a 50 MHz bus and no motherboard cache. Mach 5.

>All switches down.

I have the MaxPowr G3 500/1M in a PowerTower Pro, which is in the same family
as the 8600, running with a 50 MHz bus speed. It's running with the original
cache DIMM in place. It won't run without it! Therefore, if it doesn't work
with the cache DIMM, try it without, and vice versa.

>The last requires that the MaxPowr card be set for Mach 5 operation.
>Switches up, down, down, up.
