I would buy a ~$20 external USB case for the IDE drive and hook it to
the 8600 with a USB card.
The IDE cards are pretty spendy last I looked; USB cards, you could
find for less, plus you'd have USB on the 8600 for very useful future
use, even if the USB card is the same price as a IDE controller card.
