Received several helpful suggestions that all require some sort of
upgrade
(ie: spending money). Since I'm trying to get the most bang for my
buck,
when I saw a $20 stand-alone DVD player (for plugging into
television), I
jumped on it. When I got home, I found that not only is my computer
obsolete, so is my TV. Radio Shack will sell me a converter kit for
$29 -
over budget! However, I noticed that a non-working 8500 seems to have
the
proper connections - the AV connections that my two working machines
lack
(of course). If there's a good chance that this will work, I might try
putting the 8500 back together. I'm asking if anyone has tried this? I
don't
need to record, just play.
One other thing I've wondered about. Last time I opened the 7300,
noticed
inside the case a panel that suggested the holes that the 8500 has for
AV
connections. Could these AV components be transferred to the 7300, or
is
this just a form factor thing?
