I had the same problem and we had a lengthy discussion about it. Here
are some main points made:
* Reinstall the system
* Needs to be OHCI Compliant
* Make sure you use Compatible USB devices
* Clean the PCI contacts
* Make sure it doesn't have a VIA chipset
* Reset the PRAM

After trying this I didn't have any luck getting mine to work, tell me
if it works for you.
