Can someone possibly tell me what the initials "BAT" could stand for as far as an ISP goes? Reason I ask, is my current modem is a 3com DSL, # CP3617-B, which I use with BellSouth (ADSL service). I recently found one for a great price, and am about to order it. It's # is CP3617-BAT-X. I happen to see another used with Verizon, and it's # is 3CP3617B-VZN. So this leads me to believe that suffix is designating a proprietary modem used only for a specific ISP? Maybe by some chance someone may also be able to tell me if a CP3617-BAT-X modem would work here in LA, (and we now use the CP3617-B). Thanks, -Clint
