I tried the shutdown that Ed mentioned and it does not seem to work on
Win2000. It shuts down and then restarts. 

Does anyone know where I can get the shutdown for Win2000. It is not
listed in the download area that is pointed to by the reference below.

For XP, try this:
shutdown -s -t 01

For 2k,  I believe you need shudown.exe
