I do know there is a fair amount of hardware out there that just plain doesn't work on XP...and I know I've heard a few stories about some HP printers that don't, but I can't remember the models, sorry....when you installed XP, did you run the compatibility wizard that's on the CD? Did it tell you the printer was not compatible?
I really don't know much more about this. When I have a problem with Windows XP, I go to Hal Cardona. He runs a Windows XP group at Yahoo and he is very knowledgable. You might want to join this group and see if he can help you: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WinXPHelp/ Good luck. Surprisingly, they don't. The site defaults to a printer model similar to mine, but the driver doesn't do the job. And, the HP tech help was, well....unhelpful. Any other ideas?
