I need help. I recently had to erase everything on my harddrive and
reinstall. My computer (HP Pavilion 7975) is now just exactly like it was
when I bought it new last December. (Windows XP came on it.) But I lost
everything I have put on it this year. I have had to reinstall all
hardware, like printer, pc camera, and scanner. I installed both the pc
camera and the printer using a USB. No problem with anything until I tried
the scanner. I put the HP Scanjet 5200C CD in and followed instructions. I
am supposed to be given an option of using a USB or a Parallel. Well, all
this year I have used the USB. (In fact, my printer is two years old and I
have always used the USB cable. When I go through the install wizard, I am
not given a choice. There is a picture of the parallel cable and one of the
USB cable. The USB picture has an X on it, and I am warned not to use the
USB cable. When I download the scanner stuff, and then try to run it, I am
told that they can't find my scanner. How can I make my USB work. Thank you
