Go to Tools>Options and click on the General tab...in there, there's a
box that says "At Startup, open all files in:"....by default that box is
empty, so if there's something in there, delete it and close Excel and
reopen it and see if that fixes it.

Subject: RE: PCWorks: Excel 2000 Dilemma

Hi Linda & Keith
I had checked that & there is nothing in the XLStart folder. But the
problem
still persists. I wasn't sure if something should be in the folder. Is
there
somewhere to set the default template to open? Any thoughts on why it
would
automatically open the other file & try to open a publisher file?

Thanks for the quick response,
Mike H
