Video card model? AGP or PCI? If AGP are you sure it's compatible with the AGP slot voltage and "1x/2x/4x" wise? Is your video card correctly identified in the display properties? Do you have the correct video card drivers (and have you reinstalled them?)
Monitor model? Is your monitor correctly identified in the display properties? If your monitor requires drivers are they installed (and have you reinstalled them?) Motherboard model? Do you have the AGP drivers installed for the mobo (if it requires them)? There is no 'proper setting' for "bit" color, you set it to what you want....16 bit uses the least amount of resources and 99% of the time looks the same as 24 or 32bit. The color depth you choose depends on whether your monitor and video card support them. -Clint God Bless Us All Clint Hamilton, Owner Want to exchange links with us? http://OrpheusComputing.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Azhodge" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> My husband's computer, Windows XP, I.E. 6, the desktop settings keeps going back to the 640 x 480; I set it to the 800 x 600 - click apply and okay. Then I restart the computer. Got any ideas what else I should do??? Also I notice it goes to 32-bit color in the Windows XP - is that the proper setting for it? On my Windows 98SE I have 800 x 600 and color settings are 16-bit. Thanking you in advance. Azhodge ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
