thanks Roger--- you got me thinking-- I checked for the "go directly to
inbox" option-- but mine was going to "outlook Today" so that wasn't it.
But you made me think about the settings-- and while looking at that
"general" tab--I realized it wasn't using Outlook as the default mail
handler (thought it was) selected this ..so when I tested at first I was
very excited, only 1 came thru! But then next try and all after that
still received doubles (but they did have the same time).

But thanks for the idea!

Hi Lee,

I have heard of your duplicate email messages happening before. I also
notice you say, "One of my accounts" which tells me you may also be
"synchronizing" in OE.  Try this and see if it eliminates it. Go to
Tools>Options>General and uncheck the "When starting, Go directly to my
inbox ." Uncheck that and see if that eliminates it. Roger
