I've recently joined the ranks of new PC owners, getting a DEll P4 2.53GZ system. It of course came with XP, and I am aware that there is some sort of firewall built in, but I wanted to test it out. It appears that Steve Gibson's site no longer offers port probing, etc. Does anyone out ther know of another reliable place to test for security vulnerabilities?

It's the pre-release version of "Probe My Ports" that will allow you to probe your first 1056 ports. (After Shields Up probes the 12 most popular ports, you can go on and press the button "All service ports".) This 1056 port probe is very fast. The results appear as a color coded grid with 1054 small squares. If you let your cursor hover over any of these small squares, a small "tool tip" will appear telling you what that port is commonly used for. You can also probe any ten of the 64K ports of your own choice.
