Where would we be without Clint's take on things?
I have recommended the Google Toolbar to everyone I work with, and the only
problems I've ever seen were when some other toolbar had to be forceably
removed.
Some users are never going to understand the implications of installing
software of any kind. They're going to get in trouble and stay in trouble
until the Sun implodes. Most people learn how to control their impulses, and
most people seem to like the Google toolbat at the moment. Something better
will no doubt come along soon-maybe the proposed IE popup stopper will
actually work and replace all others. The web evolves.
I don't have time to play "Internet God" and try to manipulate my, or
anyone's page rank. I rather imagine Google is smart enough to see through
such schemes, and any such effect would be transient at best.
Google, so far, seems to be a force for good on the 'net. They've forced
Yahoo and others to clean up their act so we can tell a sponsored link from
a paid inclusion and their penchant for search innovation is astounding.

In my experience, people just want the internet to work, and Gooogle is a
keeper.

That Google toolbar is a major problem waiting to happen (and
it already has in some instances). For one, when I tried it I
had all kinds of problems. It "took over" the IE toolbar. I
could NOT disable it. When I'd try, it kept coming back on
every browser window I opened and what made it even more
irritating is that it came back not in the state that I wanted
it, and kept deleting my "Links" toolbar, my PopUp stopper
toolbar (which works perfect and I don't want to use Google's),
and the Merriam-Webster Dictionary/spell check button I added,
and also totally rearranged my customized toolbar layout
settings. Obviously not everyone is having that problem.
