When you send to mail, it is converted to ASCII which cannot retain the formatting that you would have in word. In the past, I suspect that the document was attached and that way, it retains the format of the word processor. If you are looking for a smaller file size to send, you can send it as an attachment in RTF (Rich Text Format). This way, any word processor will be able to open the file and it will retain most if not all of the formatting that you used.

Hi,

Previously I always sent formal letters as a Word
attachment, using Outlook Express. This time I decided
to compose the message in Word and hit Send To-Mail
Recipient. I was thrilled that I could do it this way
and keep the formatting, but when I read my sent
e-mail, the font was different. How can I avoid this
in the future.

Thanks
