If I understand you correctly; if you don't want a certain program opening up
image files, you can do one of a few things. Simplest is to right click the
image file, "open with" (if you have it) and from the list choose how you
want it to open. You can check the box "Always open with", but that doesn't
always work though. You can also go into "Folder options" then "File types",
and scroll down to "jpeg", "jpg", etc., and via one of the buttons at the
bottom you can select with what you want them to open up. (Note IE is what
is supposed to open image files, but on XP they changed that so IE would no
longer open them. So, every XP install I have to change those image
associations back to IE, and "Paint" for bmp files).

Jorge,

At the moment, the camera issue has been cleared up,
I did something in
Device Manager and the next time I plugged in the camera
the puter loaded the
proper info it needed to run the camera and I could
easily open the pictures in
Adobe, the only problem I have now is tanfering the pics
from PDD files to
JPEG files so I can open them on other programs. Thanks
again for all of your
help. :-)

A couple of words to Dale: You should place your answer

way is way much better
to understand. The way you arrange your messages is at
least confusing.

2) if you are getting too much trouble transferring from
your camera
to your PC, easiest way by far is using a card reader
and just empty your
memory card to the folder you choose in your HD. That's
what I do.
You can use any file manager on Earth, from windows
explorer to any
Norton Commander clone or ztreewin or even the ACDC
browser which
is very friendly because you get the previews as you're
browsing through
your files and it doubles as a fairly good file
manager..The one that
has more features is PowerDesk. Any of them is going to
see your card
or your camera output as a removable disk.
Of course, you must follow Clint's advice and make sure
your
usb or serial ports are enabled in your bios and
effectively working.

good luck
Jorge
