Jeff you might try the above link, I went this route a long while back, it turned out that Conexant was not the actual modem builder but the chip set mfg. You might have to find the real mfg of the modem. FCC ID # ?? Now I have every thing up and running except the modem. The modem is Conexant and seems to install fine, but an error when I try to dial out. In system properties, the only error I have is this PCI communications device. I can not find good drivers on the set-up disk or the ME disk. This is an HP computer, quite a few years old as it came with WIN 98... Can anyone think of something I may be missing on this install? Also, This thing is installing two COM ports. I have the modem set on COM 1. I've uninstalled all these and the sound card drivers and restarted, but I still come back to this. Thank you.
