Sounds like something the site uses requires a newer version. Check the MS 
update site.

The web site "TV Guide" freezes my computer every time I leave it running 
for a few minutes, even if it's minimized.  Took me awhile to figure out 
what was going on, as I very often would check the TV listings and then 
just minimize the browser in case I wanted to check back later.

The only solution was to simply turn off the power button--I couldn't even 
access the shutdown sequence through ctrl/alt/del.

Since I quit using that web site, I've not had another such freeze.
