I posted this the other day Ben when I was trying to figure out
how to switch profiles.

Well no surprise the archives are messed up again. I see the
messages, but can't click them. Do a search there for
profiles and you'll see my posts with "Profiles" in the
subject line. It may be any of them, but I think it's the
first one listed with "update & fix" in the subject line. Of
course you won't be able to read any of the posts until their
server is working again.

Also you may want to look into "PowerStrip" since that's what I
now use for FAST profile switching.

Does anyone know where in the registry the color profile
setting for the
monitor is stored?

I have color calibration software that creates custom profiles
for monitors
but I have one machine with a ATI 9700 AIW Pro that will not
accept any
color profile when you go to the color management page in
display
properties. It will let you add a profile but when you click
on apply it
disappears and there is no monitor profile appearing on the
page. This
isn't a terrible problem because my color management software
starts at
boot and sets the appropriate color profile but applications
like Adobe and
other graphics software think there is a mis-match between what
the computer
thinks it has set as the default profile and the actual
profile. I'm tired
of getting a notification box every time I start graphics
software.

On my other machines I am able to add color profiles and they
remain in the
list. On a computer with a ATI 9800 Pro I can set any of a
number of
profiles as default.

I thought I would look at the registry entry for this but while
I can find
all the profiles available listed, I can't find the place where
it specifies
which is active.

Thanks

Ben Moore
