This was my post to Harold concerning the Hoax, with a link to Snopes. I had seen this debunked on Boing Boing a fewe days before. Oddly enough the only formal computer course I ever took was Fortran I, in 1970.
For Clint: The JS Loop "virus" is a well known bug in First Page 2000, the best HTML editor ever (Well, it's the only one I like). Happy holidays, Howard. The picture is actually a hoax-I believe it's the control room of a submarine, and someone doctored it up to fool the unwary. You can read about it here: http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/hoaxes/computer.asp You need both the "Load Power Profile" entries. All your entrieds look valid to me, and the resource use seems normal as well. Theoretically, you can get down to 10% before you have a problem. I've seen some computers do this easily, and others will choke long before 10%. If you don't use the keyboard features, you can delete that line. Time for that new Dell! ************************************************ I don't know why someone would think this a hoax, but maybe it is - what is the evidence of such? Fortran was a well know language used in scientific circles as it was developed for mathematical formulations early on. It might be fun to see if it really is a hoax or someone just thinks it is. :) ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
