Original problem: > Clicking the x (upper right hand corner of title bar), my Firefox takes 5 seconds to close. Same thing happens when double-clicking the FF logo in upper left hand corner of title bar. When closing it by File > Exit, the closing is immediate. Closing IE or any other window, there is no problem. What's wrong with my FF title bar?
Hi Harold, I don't have that time lag on my XP system using Firefox but I will install it on my 98 system shortly. You have a current system don't you, as in above 300 mhz cpu with more than 64 mb of ram? Are you using Java from Sun or the M$ JVM? --- Peter Kaulback Peter, I don't know if this is the information you need but I have my CPU with 536 Mhz, and 256mb RAM. I'm not aware of installing any Java, however I do notice a folder in my Program Files directory called Java. It has a sub folder in it called "j2re1.4.2_06" and inside that, a bunch of licenses. I don't know how it got there but there it is. I removed it to a "holding pen" and seems there is no difference in the general functioning of the computer. I guess my follow-up question is, what's that Java folder for? Interesting how one question leads to another; when are all the questions answered? And as I said earlier, the only extensions I added so far are: 1. Add Bookmarks Here, 2. Favorites Converter, and 3. View This Page in IE (all recommended by this group and which I think are very good). Note to Clint; I find this Firefox browser delightful. Great Google search in the upper right hand corner, very convenient "find on page" in lower left (when needed), and seems there are fewer popups. I welcome any other extension recommendations --- Harold. ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
