I just got EarthLink DSL and I am having trouble making it work. Wonder if anyone has any suggestions before I call EarthLink?
When I key in the URL EarthLink says to use to set things up, Internet Explorer wants to use my dialup modem instead of the DSL connection. It seems like I am missing something simple but I can't figure it out. I made the network changes EarthLink says to make, obtaining an IP address automatically, and disabling DNS but nothing goes. All cables are connected and the modem seems to be working properly. The NIC is integrated into the motherboard and is a 3Com Gigabit LOM (3C940). Operating system is Windows 98 SE.
