Roger is right. And the lesson is? As much as possible, cut down on typing
URL's or be extremely careful how you do it. My solution is to keep your
important URL's in your Bookmark Bar or Link Bar or in your Start menu, or
copy/paste the designated URL from a reliable source when needed ... that
way, no errors are possible ... Harold

The only reason I can think of for typing in URL's is if you're using a public computer, where you can't keep a bookmark or favorite list. But then, I suppose one wouldn't care if a public computer gets infected?

This leads me to ask--how DO internet cafes, etc, deal with problems like this? I have a couple of correspondents who only have access at a local library or a cafe. Do these public computers provide any way of allowing a user to set up their own bookmark list and use it? Perhaps on a disk or CD? Do most public computers have floppy drives? I know nothing about public computers, and maybe it's time I learned.

I have a couple of friends planning a month-long trip to Europe in the fall. They have a concern about their digital camera not holding all the pix they might take. Rather than buying tons more memory sticks, I have convinced them to set up Yahoo pix albums and dumping their camera at internet cafes. I have discovered that one can upload pix to an online album directly from the camera. This was a very cool discovery for me!
