Hi All,

I like to dial phone numbers directly from my contacts list in Outlook 2000
(by clicking on the little telephone icon at the top of the contact window).
However, we just got a new telephone system in the office. The phones are
NEC Dterm80 and I am told that the whole system is digital. The phone tech
said we need special modem in the computer that would be compatible with the
phone system. (I do have one phone jack that is outside the system that I
use when the power is out - I just plug an old phone into it and I have
phone service. That jack works fine with the computer, but I need to dial
from within the system.) I asked my computer guy and he doesn't know what
I'm talking about.

Do any of you know how I can do this? I've seen huge office buildings where
they dial out directly from Outlook and I know they MUST have a digital
phone network. Is there a certain kind of modem I can put in the computer
that will make this work?

Thanks!

Janet
