Thanks Elaine. I recently did an XP update from M$ site. I did forget to mention, I ran Adaware, Spybot and Trend Micro and they only found a few minor things. I followed the prompts in the red rectangle up to the point where it asked to download something, but the program didn't appear to be a M$ program, so I cancelled.
During the update downloads, one was labeled as the M$ spyware program, but I can't find it under program files. There was a recent update on my PC, it involved giving me another six months of the beta and updating the signature files. If you set in the program for automatic scans, it should scan at the times you set in. If you set it for manual scans, then you should bring up the program and tell it to scan. I suspect the block might have been the automatic updater, but I don't know what is on your system. Have you done any AV or spy/mal/ad-ware scans?
