I use the Mozilla Suite with its accompanying email. With that, I can
get a popup that will offer me the choice of sending in HTML or ASCII
with just a simple selection when sending. If it is sent in HTML, I can
read it that way and if replying, can reply either with plain text or
html. I don't know for sure, but suspect that the Mozilla Thunderbird
email program will do the same. As it doesn't use Visual Basic, it
won't run a script that might be in the email reducing considerably the
possibility of infections.

Thanks Clint for giving this one so much attention. I don't feel like
dabbling in the registry just to set up a way of saving a few keystrokes
so I can view the occasional message in html. It'll be the
Tools|Options route for me.

That may only work on XP, and it will only change HTML to plain
text, not back again. BTW I searched the registry for this
area and couldn't find it.

Thanks, Jeff, but that doesn't work on my system. Has the same
effect
as if I clicked Help in the menu bar. But what you describe is
exactly
what I want to do without going through Tools|Options, and then
having
to go back in there again after. Guess I'm just plain lazy :)

John,
I have OE messages defaulted to plain text.
If I get one I wish to view in HTML, alt-shift-H will switch
it to
HTML.

Running OE6 on Win98se.
Is there any way (short of major surgery in the registry)
that I can
make a toggle switch on the toolbar to switch with one click
between
reading messages in plain text and html? (Yes, I know how to
do it
under Tools|Options.)
