Harold, that bagMRU size is a dword value. In decimal it's 8000 I believe.

Subject: PCWorks: Re: Adjusting size of folders

Original problem (using in Windows XP) ... I'd like all the folders to open
up the same size; I can always adjust them after that. I adjusted one
folder, went to Tools, Folder Options, View, and clicked "Apply to All
Folders" (in Advanced Settings I already have the box, "Remember each
folder's view settings" checked). With all this, the folders open a little
larger than I'd like. I know it's "no big deal" ... but compulsives being
what they are (or what I am), what can I do? ... Harold

Clint's solution ... I think #2 on this page will work for you.
<http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm> Now I've never heard of what

you describe, what happened with me was when I would arrange the icons in
certain orders in certain folders, XP would no longer remember it. That
tweak fixed it. I think the default memory is for 200 or 400 total folders,
and that tweak sets it to 8000. ... BTW, you'll LOVE that website! ...

Response ... An interesting page Clint. I've seen it before and think it was

you who posted it another time for someone else in the group. However, when
clicking that second line, "Increase Folder View Size to 8000" ... I get the

following page: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/bags8000.reg with

the following information:

Windows Registry Editor Version
5.00[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU][-HKEY
_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags][HKEY_CURRENT_USER
\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell]
"BagMRU Size"=dword:00001f40
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam] "BagMRU
Size"=dword:00001f40[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVer
sion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoSaveSettings"=dword:00000000 Now I'm not unfamiliar with the registry but

here I don't see where any changes in keys or values are indicated. Any
advice with that? Furthermore, what might have happened with the usual way
of setting folder size, (Tools, Folder Options, View, etc)?

Btw Marlene, if this posting is too long, look what Clint has before me
(Something strange here with "AxPsHook", what it is? Plus more mysteries.)
... Bill Gates counts his 8471 characters and 197 lines against my 2245
characters, and 34 lines :-)
