Just unzip it into your adaware directory and it will replace the existing def.ref file.
I think the problems must be with their new site design. It will probably settle down in a couple of days. I just clicked on the Download and Buy/definitions link on the main page. The download page took a long time to load. The last image that loads is the download link which is right below the rolled up paper.
