Can you connect using the Ethernet connection?
Plug the laptop directly into the modem. If it does not work there, your
problem maybe be the service, not your equipment.

I called Netgear a third time Friday and finally got a technician who
could fix the problem. We made so many changes I'm not sure what fixed it
but now it works. Yes, I could get online when the laptop was connected
directly to the modem.
