And if they don't take the trouble of submitting things to the patch tracker, what happens ? you just let the bug sit there ?

Plus the patch tracker is how patches get into Miller's code.

In the end, it looks like the patch tracker is the real source code management system of pure-data whereas SVN/GIT are largely irrelevant.
