i think that /usr/local/lib/pd-externals/ was introduced exactly because there was a need to make it different from /usr/local/lib/pd/extra (both /usr/bin/pd and /usr/local/bin/pd would look for externals in /usr/local/lib/pd-externals/) gfrdsa IOhannes
