You are right. I'm currently trying on a RPM-based box.
If everything works well, I'll search forward on the DPKG-based box.

One thing you should now is the fact that to test the files that need
to be updated, the procedure have changed (really faster, a few
seconds on a fast computer) :
        - we create a tmp file
        - we touch (or create if does not already exists) each package
file
        - we remove each file that have an bigger mtime than the tmp
file, since it's means that the package has been removed.

Someone maybe wrong on this part.
