If you only need to make minor edits (for example, if you have to change numbers that will stay in the same place), you can do that with the TouchUp Text Tool.  Otherwise, if you need to make more substantial changes, you'd be better off converting the file to Word format, since Acrobat doesn't work like a word processor.  Acrobat 6 allows you to save files as .RTF and .DOC files.  If the formatting isn't accurate enough for you, you can also try BCL Drake from our website at http://www.bcltechnologies.com.
