If you want the value of the field on the left of the equation to be the
same as that on the right, you would need to also put .value on the right
( thus making the end of the statement be this.getField("P" + p +
".check.check.ins_name").value =this.getField("check.ins_name").value;
(as it is, you are trying to store the field object itself rather than
it's value).
