What percentage of browsers do you expect are less than version 5 for your viewers? The stats I've seen indicate versions 5+ is about 94 to 97 percent - almost all are IE. What I'm suggesting is that it may not be worth the effort unless you have data showing your viewers are still using older browsers. The most popular older browser is Netscape 4.7 and it's so far in the mud as to be almost forgotten except by some fanatical die hards.
