Has anyone had
trouble setting up a browser-based review?
We are using
XP Pro, Acrobat 6 Pro and a slew of older PDF files.
I am trying to
set up the review using the "Networked Folder" comment repository setting. It
seems to initiate the review successfully, (It uploads the file, creates the
comment subfolder and files, and emails the .FDF file to all of the
participants) but when the reviewers open the .FDF attachment, the browser (IE)
says the page cannot be displayed. At the bottom of the error page, it states it
cannot find the server or there was a DNS error. The location in the browser
address bar appears to be correct.
We have
speculated that it is a permissions error, or possibly a problem with the
network not recognizing the .FDF's request to open the network file in the
browser as a request from the logged in user. Alternatively, we were thinking
maybe it was long file names and spaces, etc., but have been unable to narrow
down in either direction.
Anyone else
run into this?
I'm not sure
if there are some specifics I'm leaving out, so ask me if you need more info,
I'll try to supply it....
