You might consider AutoSummary from Acrobotics
http://www.acrobotics.net/detailpage.asp?Prod_ID=12
It collects the data you are describing as a batch process from a large number of 
files and stores the data in a database file (.csv)  that you can search with any 
database or spreadsheet program.
