Hi,
You should check out "Search Within" from pdf995.
What it does is catalogue all of the pdf files in a given folder.
Then you can use it to scan through all of them quickly to locate almost anything.
I think it will work with even 100's of PDF's.
Just select the folder that they're in.

You might consider AutoSummary from Acrobotics
http://www.acrobotics.net/detailpage.asp?Prod_ID=12
It collects the data you are describing as a batch process from a large number of files and stores the data in a database file (.csv) that you can search with any database or spreadsheet program.
