the other consideration is that press-quality PDF's will be very heavy to download/view on line.
better to create the newsletter and then output it to distiller twice: create a mono high-res PS and then distill as press quality, then create low-res PS and distill for screen. In any case, you will have to test this with your printer.

Hello, All -
Can anyone tell me what our options are in response to the following question from a designer who often sends us work:
"The XXXX [x's are mine] wants to post their newsletter with COLOR images on their website. To save time on my end, is it possible in the future for me to design the newsletter with color images, send the printer that color PDF, but have their prepress output the file as a two-color job with grayscale images? Or am I just asking too much of the present technology?!"
