We have a partial answer to the question that was posed yesterday: "In the Acrobat 6.0 upgrade installation, the PDF Writer is shown as installed, but remote users cannot use it. It was working fine in Acrobat 5.0, which according to the documentation, appears to be a different animal than 6.0 . The upgrade of Adobe 6.0 installs the writer as a default, but is not working. The suggested uninstall and reinstall has not cured the problem. Can anyone shed some light on this, or has experienced a similar problem?"

When Acrobat 5.0 is uninstalled in the upgrade to 6.0 process, the 5.0 print drivers are still present on the server. If 6.0 is installed, it sees these drivers for the Writer, therefore it assumes they are installed for 6.0 and doesn't create drivers. By deleting these drivers after the 5.0 uninstall from the properties of the terminal server, before installing 6.0, we have forced the proper drivers to install correctly.

Unfortunately we have now realized that two of our remote services, Calyx Point and our document processing service are specifically using 5.0 version's Writer. We are continuing to work on solutions for this, it appears to require more configuration than just changing the pointers. We currently are back to using 5.0.

Thanks for the responses to our questions.
