Hi listers,

This is my first intrusion on this list. I'm having a shifted bookmark problem in PDF files generated from FrameMaker 6.0-Acrobat Distiller 4.05 from a book and files. My use of Acrobat and Distiller is pretty simple and straightforward, since I simply generate PDF from FrameMaker files.

The second level bookmarks are displayed in the first level bookmarks preceeding the one where they should go:

Chapter 1 First level bookmark
Chapter 1 Second level bookmark 1
Chapter 1 Second level bookmark 2
Chapter 2 Second level bookmark 1
Chapter 2 Second level bookmark 2
Chapter 2 First level bookmark
Chapter 3 Second level bookmark 1
Chapter 3 Second level bookmark 2
(Etc.)

I noticed this problem in the files of the French version of the document more than a year ago when I started working at my present position. The bookmarks jump to the right pages though, so I didn't make much of the problem. And the English version was alright, then.

Since then, I have translated the French FM files in English with a translation tool (SDLX), and the problem has spead to those files too. Recently, I created brand new templates for these files and imported the contents in new files. I presumed this would solve the bookmark problem, but it didn't.

Something is definitely wrong with those files because in the set of files for another document, the bookmarks are displayed as they should.

I'm also having very similar TOC entries problems when converting the same source files into HTML Help with WebWorks Publisher 2003 Professional.

The only thing that is unique to these sets of files is a bulleted list of the first level section titles, wich are generated individually for each file, then cut and pasted into the first page with the hypertext markers, and  finally tagged with a hyperlink character tag.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Regards,
