Yes I agree. Something stylewise about matching xp ie keeping up with the neighbours? V5 was much cleaner and more intuitive. The PDF list is a service provided by PDFzone.com | http://www.pdfzone.com __________________________________________________________________
I finally got a chance to look at Acrobat 6 Professional, and must
remark that it's interface is very cluttered and confusing in my
opinion, compared to Versions 4 and 5. Does anyone share this opinion?
More important for me (and it meant I uninstalled Acrobat V6 and reverted to V5) was that Under V6 when I tried to do minor text edits in a long document ie change a word or a space added or deleted... V6 crashed. OK, it may not be wise to have 100Meg Acrobat docs with 200,000 words of text and to try to tidy the text.... but in V5 the same minor text edits were immediately OK. For release I backed off to V5 Reader too... for the interface clutter reasons that have been aired elsewhere in this thread.... plus the increase in app. size not matched by user functionality.
A pity. But then similar sorts of 'disimprovements' have meant that I have lately reverted from Windows XPpro to Windows 2K.
Is there any place that has a good comparison of features between 4, 5, and 6? I'm suspicious because of Adobe's previous stealthy removal of paper capture functionality in Version 5. What's missing in 6, and what's added?
