I originally posted this on PDF-Basics with no response, so I thought I'd try here... I have a problem creating PDFs through the print to Distiller process. This seems to occur from any application, and also in MS Word if I use the Create PDF macro. The process starts, then hangs up and Windows XP gives me a "this document failed to print" message and the document is stuck in the Distiller print queue, with the only way to clear and unfreeze things being to use Task Manager to kill the Distiller task. I am using Acrobat 5.0.5 under Windows XP Home. I _think_ the problem may have started since I installed the version 6 Reader (since uninstalled). I have uninstalled and re-installed Acrobat with no improvement. I can create a PDF by printing to Distiller using "print to file" and then starting Distiller and loading the file manually, so there is nothing wrong with Distiller per se, just with the interfaces somewhere. Any suggestions from the massed talent out there? (And before Leonard asks/suggests, changing to Acrobat 6 is not an option at the moment :-) ) Thanks, Tony Bacon Aotearoa/New Zealand To change your subscription: http://www.pdfzone.com/discussions/lists-pdf.html
