The clipping paths in quark are not the same as a clipping path from Photoshop. Its a feature that quark add in Version 4.0. If you were using version 3x before you wouldn't of had this problem. Quark applies a clipping path to all imported pictures even if they don't have one from photoshop. If after checking the clipping path setting in quark the problem isn't resolved.
