You should have started a new thread for these questions.

Anyway, what form tool in InDesign? If you're talking about Acrobat, I don't
think this will work the way you want it to.

1. Acrobat form fields (unless created with the professional forms design
application) are not precise. Your business card may look like a someone
pasted each field without using a t-square. Maybe you could dink around with
it until everything is precise, but I doubt it.

2. Each user has to have the fonts installed on their system. If you're
using Arial or Times New Roman, this wouldn't be a problem.

3. Unless each user has the full version of Arobat, the file can't be saved.
Exception is if you have created the form with Adobe Form Designer (cost
$1,695++ US$) "with" the special extension required which allows anyone with
Reader to complete, save and return the PDF. The form, however, should be
able to be submitted, complete with information.

How many cards are you talking about, anyway?

If you're not talking about hundreds, if not thousands, of cards, most
automation opportunities may not be cost-effective.

You could, however, use PDF or HTML to send the data to an XML file, and
then use Illustrator or InDesign to create your card layouts for final PDFs.
Illustrator is ideally suited for merging variable data with templates. The
files can then be saved as final PDFs.

You can create variables in Illustrator to generate data-driven graphics.
