This is where I chime in and say, if you want to include multimedia in your PDFs you have to have 6.0 Pro. We solved our multimedia problems with Acrobat, reinstalled the lab with Pro instead of Standard, and had a great semester using 6.0 Pro. Adobe has put our story online: http://www.adobe.com/education/gallery/e_stroudsburg/main.html

All -

Looking for a little insight from the group. I am at the point where I
really need to step up from Acrobat 5.0 to Acrobat 6.0. I am trying to
figure out if I need Standard or Pro. Generally speaking, I write technical
manuals and training programs, where the final product is a PDF to be
printed. Sometimes, my clients like to have them available to their
customers via the web as well. I do most of my development using Microsoft
Word and PowerPoint (driven by customer requirements, personally I would
prefer to use something more stable than Word, like FrameMaker). I also
generate some PDFs from Visio Technical. On occasion, I create some simple
forms. I don't do any programming.

Also, I would like to see if anyone out there has had any problems when just
doing an upgrade, rather than buying the full version. I realize that Adobe
isn't Microsoft, but I know I have had some problems in the past when
upgrading from one version of a Microsoft product to the new version. I
wish I had just bought the full version.

Thanks,

Brian
