Hi,
Unfortunately I am unable to find any information for the PDF reload prob. It seems to me that the asynchronus nature of acrobat OCX's loading mechanism is the main culprit that is giving trouble to function calls to it. From time to time a function is called when the PDF has not been completed loaded yet.

My final resolution is to load PDF in the IE browser and write _javascript_s to control it. I put a WebBrowser control in my app and load the pdf into it. Then through the DOM architecture I make _javascript_ calls to the Browser from my app. The loaded PDF is in fact accessible via document.embeds(0). Reloading is taken care by the browser itself.

It is terribly difficult to work with the OCX given the very limited support from the world around you and I understand how much frustration you must have gone thru. I am willing to share my experience with with the OCX you if you could describe more clearly how your prob looks like (how 5.0 doesn't work for you, etc).

I never used .src to load pdf. I used the LoadFile() method call.

Subject: re: [PDFdev] Reloading Acrobat Reader Ocx in an application

I saw the thread about using the PDF Acobrat reader OCX and wanted to ask if you had finally found the information you were looking for.  We used this control from within MS Access successfully with version 4.0.  However, version 5.0 doesn't seem to work in the same way and our program stopped working (pdf's would not load).  Do you know how to use the "src" property to load a pdf into the ocx?  Thanks for any info.
