Are you using a Unicode-based font to display the information? What encoding are you using for the font description?

Where we would put that in the PDF? The BOM is only used for simple strings in places like the /Info dict...
The format description tells nearly nothing about this subject.
It tells you EVERYTHING you need to know - but not in a direct way.
You need to understand the details of fonts, text encoding and PDF operators...
