This is really strange. Can you try to send output of strace?
e. g.
strace pdfedit > out 2>&1

Hi Michal,
Here is the out file. It has no meaning for me.
strace will print all system calls used by application during run.
execve("/usr/bin/pdfedit", ["pdfedit"], [/* 16 vars */]) = 0
uname({sys="Linux", node="Leda", ...}) = 0
brk(0) = 0x84e0000
old_mmap(NULL, 4096, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, MAP_PRIVATE|MAP_ANONYMOUS, -1,
0) = 0xb7f37000
access("/etc/ld.so.nohwcap", F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or
directory)
--- SIGFPE (Floating point exception) @ 0 (0) ---
+++ killed by SIGFPE +++
Seems that problem can be in your PDFedit installation or system
configuration
because failure occured during dynamic libraries loding.
Can you send me your pdfedit binary in private email (mstsxfx at gmail dot
com)?
Are you able to compile from sources or install debian or rpm package on
your
system?
