This is known bug, unfortunately it is caused by deficient memory management in underlying libraries (QSA), so it will leak memory in addition to the slowdown. We are solving it by porting PDFedit to Qt4 and QtScript. Unfortunately it means half of the GUI needs to be rewritten. Much of the work is already done (in qt-4 branch in CVS), but it is not complete yet.
