Paal,
Enough of this non-sense. You are ignorant of the facts and continue to bash
those you don't know or like. I point you to the site below, Japan Camera
Trade News of May 2000. (It was the first one that I could find.)
http://www.genyosha.co.jp/JCTN/Statistics/1999MOF/99ExpJA110.html
It lists the value of 1999 still camera exports to the EU at US$29.6 billion,
the value to the US of $28.6 billion, and the value to Other areas as $25.8
billion.
Look for the population of the EU. Would it be 350+ million? The USA
population is 275 million. Now use some of your math skills to calculate
sales per capita.
When you get done with that, look up Automobiles in use, Color TV's, VCR's,
Computers, number of bathrooms, and number of rooms in homes/apartments.
You'll find the same answer. There is lots of purchasing power in the USA
and not the bleak situation that you believe.
Point is, spending per capita on luxury goods in the USA exceeds that in most
of the rest of the world. Even the EU.
There is an old saying 'There is nothing so devistating to an opinion as the
facts.'

of population thats excluded from the buying feast. This percentage is far
larger in the US than comparable western nations. >>
